Welcome
to Hector's on Henderson
Hector
Garcia
Owner
At the age of six, Hector arrived in
the United States from Cuba in 1962, knowing no English
and accompanied only by his eleven-year-old brother.
Growing up in Northern New Jersey, he moved to Texas in
1979 to study acting at Southern Methodist University. A
career path often supplemented by work in the restaurant
business, Hector's acting fortunes flourished with stage,
television and radio success.
A good nighttime job at the legendary Dallas restauarant,
The Riviera, allowed for a steady income and days free to
pursue auditions. Hector served as The Riviera's General
Manager from 2000 until it closed in 2003. He soon debuted
Hector’s on Henderson, which was named one of the Ten Best
New Restaurants of 2004.
Upon opening, Hector's on Henderson was awarded Four Stars
by the Dallas Morning News and was called “an absolute taste
sensation” in the May, 2007 issue of Texas Monthly. D Magazine
(Feb. 2008) named it one of Dallas’ Best Neighborhood Restaurants.
